Gonjasufi Live/Album

hey,

Recently went to a gig with Gonjasufi and found the production on the tracks he played much preferable to the ones on the album. I do like the album, but found the gritty sound and production of the

live stuff much more appealing. I am going to see him live again soon so will try and keep my ears open. Now, has anyone noticed the difference and come across recordings of live shows ?

Nope but wouldn't mind seeing this dude live, he's coming to London I hope.

I haven't heard of live dates ever being announced.

what is the live setup like?

is it Gonja on the mic and Gaslamp (or someone) DJing?

Roskilde festival, 9 days ago. Setup : Gonja with a mike and a mate with a laptop. The other chap was basically playing various loops from off the laptop. Some of these were from the record. Others ( the one´s I´m thinking about ) were more gritty, had more intense beats and samples of oriental music. Reworkings of the record perhaps.

He is playing a free concert in Copenhagen the 20th of August and started touring Europe last week.

Did somebody know if a live recording of Gonjasufi is downloadable on the web?

I have found only the GLK's Gonjasufi Sampler Mix from MAH but it's only 16 min.

But it's not a live recording in fact.

I saw Gonjasufi live last weekend, and it is without a doubt the most painfully embarassing piece of crap concert I have ever seen. An untight high school rock band backing Gonjasufi's wimpers and cries in what results in watered out boogie rock nu metal punk shit. Amazingly bad.

Christ, that sounds awful. I was tempted to go see him but glad I stayed at home with my tin of buiscuits.

Great album though.

Yeah, this is disappointing to hear, but I guess I'm not that surprised since the production was clearly the best thing about that album. A few cool turns of phrase by Gonjasufi were bonuses.

I want the Gaslamp Killer to release a full length album in a Madlib sort of way.
