+ this was tres cool. nice subtle drum work, good fat sound, nice elements, good builds/progression/structure.

– something weird about the stereo placement of the vocal and break. sounds a little unpleasant over headphones. the bass sound/pattern is a bit dull, although stylistically it fits with the rest of it (not suggesting the rest is dull, btw...).

is this material available for further remixes, or did you just slice up a tune? would be interested in having a bash me sel'.

thanks! yes, the vocals were treated to a FFT EQ, which can pan the narrow bands individually, so the vocals sort of pan depending on the frequency and are difficult to localise. plus this leaves more room in the centre for the drums etc.

i like the fast, sloppy fills in teh drumbeats, it gives them a nice, organic character.

i was ready for vocals by 1:27. maybe you could use that cool string/cymbal hiccup that comes in just after to go into the verse?

i love the upfront cymbal sounds, they are really vibrant.

also the vocal loop thingy panned slightly L is awesome.

this might sound dumb, but i think the vinyl crackle effect has become jazzbanded. maybe if it went through a LPF and were more subtle?

it's awesome how you mixed the guitar track and teh string samples to fit in there. totally awesome.

when you use the nice dubdelay on the vox around 4:25, i could totally space out with a really chill beat, kind of trip-hoppy, if you ever considered arranging the song differently. the strings you bring in later would sound nice with a real slow hip-hop beat too versus this busier one.

whatever it is that's stereo spread really wide, i guess a pad or a chord or something, gives this track a really awesome sense of expansiveness.

the last two minutes are stunning and i think should be their own track apart from teh pop song. this is really nice work with the vocals. sounds like reverse reverb & delay? it's awesome.

nice track, damn!

Let's face it, anything with analogue synths and downtempo beats will get compared to BoC. They're the common denominator in this genre. Just like anything with faster 'drill' drums gets Aphex, and glitchy drums get Autechre.

Joe - album's out 10th of July.

Thanks.

nah I mean it sounds like a particular boc track.. . not just the general boc vibe.. . but yes I do know what you mean in more general terms. ..
