Guest abusivegeorge Posted July 22, 2010 Report Share Posted July 22, 2010 ok so last night my computer went completely up the spout, I've managed to boot it back up using the original boot disc, and now I have managed to install Windows Vista (it was previously running Windows XP, which appears to have been completely removed from my hard drive). I am relieved to find all of my documents etc still on and accesible from my hard drive though. Now I use ESET security but I am having trouble activating it, so my friend is coming round to do that for me over the weekend, but until then I need some sort of free protection, can you guys recommend anything? I've never really used any free download protection so am unsure as to what to use, thanks for the help guys :-). p.s. Am I better to just stick or twist and try the Microsoft Security Essentials? (Running 32-bit Windows 7 with 3gb RAM). n.b., I'm a computard. Yeah the one on the left is the one I got, that free version though came with a 30day free trial of the £30 package, which has extra protection on it, when the 30 days is up it just defaults back to the settings of the free package :).
