Conviction of rape in the Phillipines

OK so my friends brother has just been convicted of rape in the Phillipines, The family and friends do not believe for one second that he did it. Apparently, there wasn't sufficient evidence to prove his innocence, so he was charged to life sentence on her word against his (she had a supposed witness). THEN I find out, that life sentence in the Phillipines means until your dead, none of this fucking 25 years shit, life is life. I just sit here and I think fuck, what if he's innocent. I mean shit, that's some fucking brass balls decision to convict a guy on a girl and her friends word.

dang. i know a guy who goes there and picks up schoolgirls. I thought they were a bunch of carefree island folks (apart from the crazy muslim rebels).

Damn, that really fucking sucks for your friend's brother if he is innocent... since it's overseas can't he contact like an embassy to get proper representation to maybe help his case a little?

Nah dude, these are Phillipine residents, born and bred. They come to the UK to visit me.

Otherwise I would have guessed he might have had more of a case for himself.

suppose he did rape a bish, humans are capable of doing some unheard of shit, it's in the news every day, just cuz you know someone doesn't mean hthey won't do it.

is the embassy helping appeal the decision? if not, he probably did it.

Yep, XXX mixed it up a bit but that was not his point anyway. I really think you can go to these places ( I'm thinking about Iran next year), as long as you respect their rules, however strict they may be. If you go there with a looking-for-troubles mentality (such as being your american self) you indeed won't get too far out of the country.
