Prince - 20ten

This was free in some newspapers a few weeks ago, its not bad at all. Couple of belters on there, and a few nice quirky production flourishes. Essentially its standard Prince drum machine and funk guitar type of thing. One fairly awkward social commentary song in the sign of the times lyrical vein about bankers and war and stuff. Yeah anyway quite good, give it a listen.

Indeed it is. Which only makes it funnier that Prince fans put it online.

prince guitar sound bit different this time.

I'll check it out. I only just got that last triple-album thing but haven't been too into what I've heard from it so far.

The last really great albums he made were N.E.W.S. and The Rainbow Children. Musicology had some great moments (especially 'Illusion, Coma, Pimp and Circumstance') but wasn't as good as an album. 3121 had moments but Planet Earth was atrocious.

You know I think the best Prince thing I've ever heard is a download only instrumental record called Kamasutra. It's a cross between video game music and Zappa's Jazz from Hell and is surprisingly well composed. Apparently it was composed for his wedding.

I was hoping for guitar solo epicness. Not bad though.
