BOC fakes

Hey all,

I was on youtube today and found a couple of BOC songs that claimed to be new BOC 2010 songs.

The songs sound good, but I believe they are fakes.

Why would there be new material when no announcement has been made? Strange...

is it this stuff, do you know?

So we're just going to have to guess which youtube videos you were looking at to make a judgement, or are you gonna post some links ?

Nope, it wasnt that. All I know is that the videos started with "*NEW Boards of Canada 2010..." then the name of the supposed song, or something like that.

This also sounds nothing like BoC. It's much too clean. The drums sound like they're from a preset studio rock kit. The melody of the synth is too flowery. There's no variation throughout the song. The production is terrible. Etc, etc, etc.

If this was really BoC, it was better left unreleased.

I don't understand why there are so many people who make fake BoC songs. If the only music you can make happens to sound like BoC to you, don't try to pass it off as a BoC track. Tycho doesn't.

Also, if you listen to any Boards of Canada song, you can tell they spent the same amount of time, if not more, on the production of their music as they did on the arrangement.
