Good music news/review sites

i'm looking for one.

i find myself browsing Pitchfork to get my news. I don't hate it like some, but i don't like indie or mainstream hip hop so its not really good for me. I just want a site that has news and reviews on a broad range of electronic music, and other music as long as its not 90% "sunny indie pop".

Don't mean to pimp my own site, but that's exactly why I started The Music Lobby. We only review music we like. Lots of different styles of music, but definitely a lot of electronic stuff. News we don't really do though.

good on you! i'm actually a bit sick of hearing negative opinions. my ideal review should simply indicate the successful elements of a work, and indicate who would enjoy it, because i can figure out for myself if I don't like something.

by the way, your site is my favourite so far.

nowadays, downloading a record is quicker than reading its review..so this reviewing business kinda loses one of its primary purposes.

be your own internet music reviewer.

I'd definitely recommend this site to anyone. And it's a pity that Playbynumbers doesn't seem to drop by WATMM anymore.

no, shut up. that's just stupid.

I'm looking for a bit of opinion in finding new and in music, and with a touch of journalistic charm.

well i think it is curious reading what others think about records you like or dislike, but no way should someone's review prevent your from giving a chance to a particular record, it just makes no sense with fast internets. although i admit i don't really act upon this ideal myself most of the time..

they have a great shop downtown san francisco that i go to - wonderful place

i agree that review sites don't have much relevance anymore. with things like last fm and forums like this, i really don't need to wade through a review site when i can access music immediately. i also enjoy discovering stuff and forming opinions on my own, and that's easier to do now than it ever was.

Most of the ones I read are already mentioned, but I have some additions:

For you norwegians here (i know there are some) I'm a writer for http://www.edits.no so check it out if you want a page in norwegian. ;)
