i haven't seen any in game footage

anyway, i played the second one years back. everyone who was a fan of the first said that it sucked. as it's the only one i played it was very fun for me. pretty similar to "Chronicles of Riddick: escape from butcher bay" (a better game - and a classic. i miss that game - so well designed and awesome - not many games like that one).

i think i'm going to play through the first at some point soon if i can find it cheap for mac. i can overlook the graphics - or use a patch to make them better.

I never played the first two. But I heard that the first one was brilliant. So I'll be keeping my eye on this one.

It looks pretty. Someone should make an 8bit platformer version so I can play it on OSX 10.6.4.

The first one is completely different from the second one. The AI and GFX are pretty dated now for sure but the actual game has a lot of content. Darker, contemporary noir/cyberpunk setting, huge cityscapes you can get completely lost in (so much bigger and with so many more secrets than the teeny areas in the second game), substantially more depth to the gameplay in terms of character customization. Way more plot than the second game and some of it was quite relevant for the time. It starts off with the statue of liberty getting hit by terrorists and civil liberties being stripped away. (And off in the distance, you can see the twin towers missing). BTW the game came out a year or so before 9/11.

never playd earlier versions and i am not aware of the story, but i like the feeling and i sense a strong blade runner inspiration.
