US Summer Heatwave

Recommended Posts

i know some other countries like Japan regularly have sweltering Summers, but damn this one is hot! coming from Florida i'm used to awful humidity, but man it is bad here in the Southwest, heat index is 109F this week. it was even crazier in Vegas last week, like 112 or some shit, we lasted at the pool for maybe 20 minutes.

been fucking boiling in London too for about the last 6 weeks...it's finally rained today for the first time in absolutely ages.... and it's a humid, energy sapping heat too which makes things more unbearable....the tube is particularly unpleasant during my lovely commute.

It's been brutal in Florida as well. The temps aren't super terrible for the summer here but the humidity has been stifling, with regular heat indexes in the high 90s and over a 100 degrees fahrenheit.

I know the oversimplification of the concept of global warming is just simple flame-baiting but I always feel the need to interject with people. I need to stop feeding the trolls.

NYC summers always blow donkey dick but this summer has been absurd. Tons of humidity and barely any rain.

They always forecast rain that never comes, too.

It is so oppressively muggy today. Muggy weather makes me want to punch people.

it ain't bad here. It is raining an unusual amount in the city from which i came. Like, floodworthy a lot

But during the month i've been in victoria it seems pretty regular. maybe a bit cooler. I don't know. I hate hot weather.

By the way, it's going to get progressively worse for the next five to eight years. We've just shifted from La Nina to El Nino (oscillation in temperature and air pressure in Pacific Ocean) and it's going to be the hottest 5-8 motherfucking years anyone alive has ever experienced.

Also, if the tundra begins to melt because of this we'll hit a "tipping point" for sure. There's huge amounts of frozen methane stored in the tundra and that shit is something like 27x more potent a factor in ripping apart the earth's atmosphere than carbon.

Anyway... I have faith that I am going to survive but most of the world's population is dead for sure, I'd say by 2030 as a very generous estimate. But I also have faith that some really brilliant technology is going to come out. We evolve with our circumstances and we're smart enough as a species to figure shit out now. And maybe that 2013 sun blast will wipe out all the shit that's polluting the air and we'll have to start again anyway.

If all the internet gets wiped out, will Watmm linger in some sort of cyber-limbo?

By the way... if you think about it, it's like the Earth has a fever and we're the virus. It's trying to burn us out.

That first bit is motherfucking misinformation, it's the other way around.
