ghOsty
I've kinda wondered how they plan it out myself, I've seen some pretty impressive perspective art done in various places Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide ghOsty's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/58531-anamorphic-typography/#findComment-1387844 Share on other sites
Joyrex
Couldn't you use a projector and then trace the projection onto the surfaces? Guest Gary C
Yeah, it's got to be a projector. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/58531-anamorphic-typography/#findComment-1387859 Share on other sites

sidewinder
I really like this stuff. I have seen a really cool one in a parking garage, where they had big ENTER, EXIT, etc. text. Guest Blanket Fort Collapse
definitely pretty cool but on the slightly relevant note this stuff still impresses me a lot more Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/58531-anamorphic-typography/#findComment-1387916 Share on other sites
Squee
Hmm, build the room in 3dMax while projecting it onto the real life room and then you go from there. blackdust
Looking at it i don't see how it could be a projector, wouldn't the image closer to the lens be bigger and the ones further away smaller, like when you stand in front of one projecting text, the text becomes larger on your body. But the one in the hall way has text scaled in proportion. Maybe be im over thinking it :D Cool effect though Edit: That kids kinda freaky Edited August 5, 2010 by blackdust Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/58531-anamorphic-typography/#findComment-1387948 Share on other sites

That site is cool, but typography is a bit more impressive than text, and I wish he would show different angles rather than just the "correct" one, so you could really get a feel for it. Guest Coalbucket PI
I always presumed it was a projector. You see it on sports fields/courts etc so the logo fits for the tv camera. I'm pretty sure a projector would work Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/58531-anamorphic-typography/#findComment-1388008 Share on other sites
Guest happycase
I imagine the artist makes the sketch beforehand, either on a photograph or a hand drawn copy of the room. The rest is a matter of carefully duplicating the sketch and shading on a 3-d environment. Software looks a bit shit but that's the basic idea. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bRfdn9lNO8 I'm gonna try this out soon. Looks fun!
