Really love the atmosphere it creates. Only thing I'd suggest is maybe a little more variation (the main guitar melody would work better with a change-up at some point, I think). Nice soundtrack sort of piece, though. Very nice. I always like songs without percussion that manage to avoid becoming nothing but drifty pad sounds.

Cheers - I love the mood of this clip.

I researched this and there are two DVD editions of this, is it worth getting the 2-disc one?

Hi Cryptowen,

thanks & I see what you mean by change. I initially had a more complicated melody but discarded it.

I also tend to get impatient and wanting to change, yet when doing Ambient stuff myself, I often force myself to stay on a theme a long time (as often these pieces go on for a long time without drawing too much attention to themselves so they can be listened to in the background). Still, one wants to keep it interesting for those who listen very closely, such as yourself. Very many thanks for your constructive comment!

^I know what you mean about background listening, which is usually how'd I'd listen to something like this. And it would probably work fine in that context. Just like there are a lot of good ambient albums/soundtracks that become pretty repetitive when you try focusing on the individual elements too much. Works better when you just take in the atmosphere.

I'll have to get the Ghost in the shell soundtrack....

This track here was inspired by what I heard in the film - beauty!

Exactly - but the great challenge here is to make it smooth and good for playing in the background yet sophisticated enough sound and arrangement-wise and harmonically to satisfy those who listen closer or with more intense focus of their heart and mind. Really, this is what distinguishes my stuff from those masters. It's different with other types of music - such as my track Caffeine Drummer, where you're forced to focus, or you'll just switch it off ;-)
