stieg larsson's millennium trilogy

i think there has been some discussion of the films but i've just ordered the books and i'm curious for opinions on either the books or the films

read the first one, was alright but haven't really got the inclination to read the others. I found the characters were kind of interesting, but the plot didn't really come through.

the main story in the first book ends long before the book ends.. like how laura palmer's killer in twin peaks was revealed long before the show ended.

oh and the start of the book is excruciatingly boring too.

couldn't get through the first book. seems to be one of those really popular things that just does nothing for me. i'll probably go see the fincher movie though.

I can't believe how many watmmer's don't super-dig the trilogy. I haven't read the books but am absolutely blown away by the movies, come on! and btw american versions of the movies would be a horrible mess

can't recall any remake being better than the original, and the original was pretty damn awful

although this is exactly the stuff fincher does well..

They've got an entire shelf full of these books right at the front of the book store, and if you stand there for a couple minutes, you're pretty much guaranteed to see someone buy a copy. It's too bad the guy is dead, he'd probably be a billionaire by now.

one thing i can say is they're wasting no time churning these movies out... all 3 were released in 2009, while the books were released 2005-7

I saw the first movie, it was over an hour too long. It amazes me how many people I see reading these books. Like people who only read Harry Potter when they read. There's so many OTHER books out there to read. sheesh.

i just about got to the end of the second book, i only read it because there was nothing else available to read. i like the girl in it, but the actual plots are pure pish. anyway 5/10.

I enjoyed the first book - I have the second here, contemplating whether or not to read it after I finish LOTR.

All 3 Millenium movies are to be directed by DAVID FINCHER. It will probably be even better than the original series. It's fucking David Fincher. Production starts early 2011 and Daniel Craig is Mikael Blomkvist!
