Honestly I have no evidence, just a vibe. Actually I was reading this interview with Anne Rice about her leaving the Catholic church after 12 years.

I had someone try to tell me that if you pronounce see on see the correct way you get the word seance meaning to contact spirits and devil worship but i dont think thats what it means.
