The Green Kingdom
I was trying to avoid the hype, but this is actually really good (save for maybe just a lyrical moment or two that are a little too emo for me) https://store.anticon.com/item.php?code=abr0105 Cerulean is the auspicious debut of L.A.'s Baths. Evolving out of Will Wiesenfeld's varied [Post-Foetus] project, and inspired by the energy of the city's burgeoning beat scene (Daedelus introduced Anticon to Baths), the record represents a clear departure from both – an often warm, acoustic-fueled electronic music that hews closer to the work of contemporaries like Toro Y Moi. By combining songwriting with self-sampling, raw musicianship with synthesized textures, and field recordings with propulsive beats, Baths has created a seething sound-cloud packed with bright moments and prone to unexpected turns. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cKArf52l2k&feature=related Edited August 10, 2010 by The Green Kingdom Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/58671-baths-maximalist/ Share on other sites
sidewinder
Weird, I just got done listening to the tune Lovely Bloodflow that someone posted on another forum. Hadn't heard of this person before now. Both this and that track are pretty good. I will be checking out more. sidewinder
I'm playing this album now. It's quite good. Nothing mind-blowing or especially different from what I've heard, but it's good. I'm curious why you have this thread named after a specific song, and not the album name, Cerulean? I'm guessing it's because this was initially just about the song and it was in General Music but then someone moved it to new releases without properly renaming the thread? Guest Coalbucket PI
Was gonna make a Cerulean thread but I guess this is it? Anyway really good album, apart from a a small number of dodgy singing moments, namely Palatial Disappointment Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/58671-baths-maximalist/#findComment-1467885 Share on other sites
