I only really like Milk Eyed Mender. But Ys is good too, I just feel like I could do without it.

 

I haven't been able to listen to all of Have One on Me but I found a few moments I enjoyed from what I did listen too. Mostly I found it boring. Milk Eyed Mender is the only one that I find really powerful and moving, the other albums seem a bit more clinical to me... more focused on being technically complex and challenging.

greg: i disagree. it's actually the only triple album i know where it's not a minute too long, and i don't grow bored.

 

she's ridiculously talented. like sickeningly so.

the new album is fuckin devastating, but i'd recommend listening in chronological order; MEM - ys - ys street band ep - have one on me.

 

yet another female vocalist that can reduce me to a blubbering pile; what is it about me and female vocalists?

ys is all I've got from her so far, and I love it. I was surprised by how good her lyrics are (I can see why dose one is a fan), and also by how good she is on her instrument, although the only other harpist I'm familiar with is alice coltrane. I'll probably go back and get the milk-eyed mender next.
