god, i'm not sure i could ever wear an england jersey again. japan created far more excitement and passion for this world cup than england was ever capable of. world cup fever was insane here and i got to wear my japan jersey with pride.

Zamora looked great didn't lose the ball and held it up well, that shot the keeper pushed over the bar was fantastic. He could do well with whatever stupid tactics Capello might want to try.

Gibbs & Walcott both looked good although Gibbs left a lot of space at times.

Gerrards goals were quality, but in an important game he'd not put them in like that.

Not right arsed at the moment either way.

Zamora held it up well, but he's too fucking slow.

Get Gerrard playing like he does for liverpool and he would put them in.

Gibbs and Young were both good, and you're spot on about Gibbs leaving too much space at times, but he is only 20 :)

as i said during the world cup, its a shame that he is so often played out of position to accomdate clearly inferior players. I bet Capello had some mixed emotions considering Gerrard scored both those goals straight after he took Lampard off and put Gerrard in centre midfield.

you are talking about a player who off the top of my head, has scored goals in European cup finals, Eufa cup finals, league cup finals, 30 yards out in the 90th minute of an FA cup final. No idea where you get that from. His finish against the US in the world cup might as well have been in his sleep....

you are talking about a player who off the top of my head, has scored goals in European cup finals, Eufa cup finals, league cup finals, 30 yards out in the 90th minute of an FA cup final. Gerrard wasn't great at the world cup, that goal wasn't bad but he under performed (as did the whole team).

I'm not knocking Gerrard I do think he's a brilliant player, although his better years are beyond him now. I still think he should be in the team, just wish Capello would play him behind Rooney (which he seems to have FINALLY realised). I don't think he'll have much of a role after Euro 2012, I'd like to think someone like Wilshere may be ready to take over by then.
