Kinda wanna try and do some Shadowrun, but the character building seems complex.

Shadowrun is awesome, totally worth the time required.

Used to play/GM D&D/AD&D, up to the 2nd edition.

Also Ninjas and Superspies and Heroes Unlimited from palladium. I preferred Ninjas & Superspies just cause it's set in the "real" world.

So how do you feel about 4th edition?

haven't really had a chance to look at it/play it. So no real opinion.

i can't count the number of toreador artistes with names like belladonna or something equally nerdygoth i've played. one of them had peter murphy captive in her basement. there are parts of my past i would like to forget.

happily pen and paper RPG free since like 2001.

i used to play warhammer 40k, but mostly I just liked designing armies, coming up with backstories ("fluff"), and modding the characters. i started off with mordheim, which was even more awesome and creepy than 40k, but no one really played it.

after a while i realized those games are pretty much for loser fag nerds.

The mini fig/elaborate number crunching stuff perhaps, but I genuinely believe that almost any group of people could gather around a table with a decent GM and play some WoD or other storytelling-heavy RPGs. As long as you have some inkling of imagination you can have a good time.

(although I flirted with warhammer roleplay, call of cthulhu and shit like that when I was younger. I can see that rpgs could be enjoyable with a good group of people, but I knew one other guy who kinda liked it so therefore it was shit )

Me and my gf usually play our version of Carcassonne that has Hobbit-houses instead of castle tiles.

Wanted to try Warhammer 40k, but that shit was just *too* expensive. That, and I was really put off by the incessant Australian who wouldn't allow me to leave his GW.
