NanoStudio for iPhone

Recommended Posts

Just stumbled upon this but it looks epic. I've got a few music things for my iPhone but never used them much. I wonder if this is more useable. It looks easy to control from this video and it has a lot of nice features, particularly uploading your own samples or recording them, and a sample edit, XY pads with recordable automation...

It's £9, might well be worth it.

You can download it in full for Mac or PC to try it out, I'm just doing it

Looks good, but I never get round to actually using any music apps on my iPhone - I've still not made anything on the Rebirth app and have had it for ages... I could tinker with it while I'm on the tube/bus etc, but I just want to sit there and relax usually and not have to think about anything too hard, and I'm not going to use it at home as I have hardware I can use and a MacBook. So yeah, I'll probably download it and never use it.

exatly... I haven't made more than a single pattern in rebirth. :(

iphone is just not fun for actually making music yet. beatmaker is neat but i cant be arsed to actually compose anything, even when im on the subway for an hour.

that said... not to rain on your parade. thats a pretty sweet app there, but i probably wont be using it.

Yeah I'm basically in the same boat. I used to love ReBirth when they started giving it away for free, would spend hours hunched over my laptop step sequencing, and then I couldn't use it because it only ran in Classic mode... when it appeared for iPhone was elated, and then I've never used it for more than 15 minutes. I guess 303s were fiddly and Rebirth on the computer was a bit more fiddly and this is just slightly too fiddly.

I sort of hope this Nanostudio one is easier to get into and the fact that you can record samples on the go is pretty cool so I will probably splash out for it and then never use it.
