Is La Ritournelle the only good thing he's ever done? His name still pops up in magazines and such but everything I've hard apart from that one great track is a load of piss. Given he pisses in loads of directions but piss is piss.

I imagine his name mostly pops up due to him being French and being loosely associated with various artists who have become popular in the last few years.

L'incroyable Vérité from 2001 is an amazing album. Through him I found Lucio Battisti, which I think is the sort of angle he's coming from with his music, Sexuality is a little different but I'm still a big fan of it. What have you heard?

I'd say check the Narco OST for more kinda like La Ritournelle.

I got the album with La Ritournelle on it to my violent disappointment. I listened to most of Sexuality to find its terrific rubbish. I got hold of Steak but it didn't have subtitles so I didn't watch it. I hated the french for a while and then I made this thread.

Narco the film is quite good as well. Perhaps 'kinda like' is going too far, not sure what you expect, but you'll hear more of his compositional style. Sexuality is a fun album

i thought his first album was good. bought it when it came out but never checked out any of his later releases for some reason...

He's got definitely got that particular brand of Franco-cheesiness (like Air) but if you can get past it, some of it is fun. I've only really heard 'Sexuality' though.
