Fresh out of my brain:

Chevy - Granuarl

Comments and criticism of all forms are welcome as always. I'm quite happy with the way this has turned out, and I've learn't a fair bit recently on how to make things sound the way I want them too.

Thankyouplease.

Chevy - 1122334_

http://soundcloud.com/fletchte/1122334-1

A quite frankly sinister mash-up of some borrowed words and found sounds made within my flat. I quite like it. But what do you think? Sounds good played loud through my headphones.

It sure is. The middle part of the track sounds very confield-ish.

Thanks. I guess ae are one of my biggest influences right now, but I never want to try and imitate them. I've had a go at mastering it a bit better if you want to listen again... :spiteful:

Im quite interested in making more moody-soundscape-beaty stuff, Quadrange and Versions are both on constant rotation at the moment so I guess that shows when I make stuff like this.

More soon!

Another one from me... I present... Burning Ham!

*edit*

Updated, upped the tempo, lost the chimey synth I wasnt happy with.

I like the beats (spent a while programming those) and also fairly happy with the bassline that comes in.

Any comments - good or bad please....

Ok fair comment! So I think half of my problem is that I get to do an hour here, an hour there, and it feels like im working on a track ffoorreevveerr when in reality its not actually for that long, and as such the depth of what im doing is lacking.

I think I need to take a day off work every week (I work 6 days a week and fucked if im sitting infront of the computer all day on my day off!)

  • 8 months later...

So i've been working on 3 tracks that I would loosely describe as my debut EP. I was hoping to give them to a net label to release but I changed my mind and I have just made them public on soundcloud so thought some of you might be interested.

I have learnt a lot in the process of making these tracks, and have revised them more times than I could shake a very large stick at.....

Anyways... I present...

S to the C EP

Its a mixture of beats, noise and melody and fucked up samples.

I will move onwards and upwards from these tracks after being bogged down in them for months... its great to finally "release" them and clear my palette to start something fresh.

Interesting track structure, with that one synth blip shaking around violently by itself. The bassline that joins in >1:30 has a nice bite to it, so to speak. Given the weird minimalist structure, I look at it more as sound art than a song, which in most cases makes for a bit of a slow listen if it's treated as anything more than background ambiance, but for this track I'd say there's enough textural alternation to keep things interesting over the entire 6 minute duration.
