Possible Retarded Question...

Just curious if you can extract certain files from Reason ReFills to use in other programs? There's some really nice drum sounds in the Reason Factory Soundback that I want to use in a track but i HATE Reasons Editing/Drum Programming facilities so damn much.

well, no really.

you cant lift samples out of the refill but you could simply rewire reason to another audio recorder/sequencer and just capture the hits and samples as audio clips.

or simply trigger the refill samples using a rewired sequencer to trigger and program them.

well yeah, i knew about rewring and stuff but i didnt really want to do it that but it looks like i probably will.

either that or just try and get better/similar drum samples.

i think you can actually save the sample out there, just load something up in an nnxt or redrum or whatever and press the save button on the instrument.

i have a program called "refillviewer" and it can extract files from factory sound bank. if you are interested, i can upload it somewhere.

you can extract samples from most refills with this. will occassionally not work on some files, but usually works with most. i'm not really sure it doesn't work on the ones that it doesn't. it just doesn't for some reason. seems to work better with user created refills? i don't really know.

yes, this is it. and it wont work if in refills name are symbols like "?" or "*" etc. but it sure works with reason factory sound bank.

Won't work for me becuase I don;t have Reason 3.0.

why not just export to audio then chop it up??
