Röyksopp - Senior

I'll be honest, I did not care for Junior much at all. But what I've heard of Senior so far is pretty nice. Probably partially because I hate what they do with vocals, partly because, I dunno. It's just not as... gay? that can't really be it considering all the terrible pop i listen to but i really can't put my finger on it so let's just go with gay.

I actually didnt listen to The Alcoholic, but that track is pretty sweet. Looking forward to this now.

Well I don't expect anything special, they won't create anything as good as eple, sombre detune, so easy or remind me anymore, they are just too gay/commercial now, sorry.

Ironic, as I recall hearing Eple in quite a few commercials. People on here are far too concerned with a bands image than their music.

Royksopp was cool now they're fake and gay

seriously though I used to look forward to REMIXES they did like Aphex Twin writing an entirely different song and calling it a remix before I knew who Aphex Twin was. Like those remixes of their own songs which are barely the same track (maybe they are too similar now by IDM remix standards)

now their music is like some Frankie Wilde type character on top of the world wistfully watching Willa Wonka special edition blu-ray on their super jumbo flatscreen tv as the end sequence plays out remembering... remembering something they once were, something that has been long forgotten... playing a short whimsical half-hearted flourish on their Korgitron 5000 synth... a single tear rolls down their cheek as they do a bong hit

I can't understand why Röyksopp are mainly known for The Understanding and Junior. Melody A.M. was a fucking masterpiece and nobody seems to know about that wonderful album by now. LOL at those who enjoy their homosexual synth pop direction. LOL again.

seriously though even in that youtube clip which was supposedly good that... that synth work... like can a synth BEG THE QUESTION or what

melody AM is their only good album imo. but it's very good.

Oh calm down Röykboy ;] I love Melody AM too, but I assume there is no clue i soon will see the new video or song i will be easily hypnotized as i used to be back in 2001...

Junior had like 3 good songs, all of which are incredibly guilty pleasures for me.

Melody AM is great, The Understanding isn't that bad.

I never listened to Junior solely because of the anti-hype, to be honest. All the negative opinions from people who loved Melody A.M. to death (I love it just the same) got to my head.

I loved The Understanding too.

I always find their lengthy, vocal-less tracks are generally their best tracks. This one is also great, imo.

Me too, but I dont understand why people hating on any tracks with vocals. I've had my fill of the cheery synth pop but that said I like Junior.

I liked Junior, so I'll probably pick this up as well. Need to go get their prior two releases as well.
