Adamovich
What was an overall size of a download section? About 35GB? I remember there were a lot of FLACs... Joyrex
Yeah, it really needs to come back online (and yes, that's my fault it hasn't) - the problem is that we do have about 35GB of material available (many FLACs), and with our hosting company we had at the time, that wasn't an issue - what was an issue was the high spikes in CPU usage that got our account there suspended, and forced us to move to more reliable and "professional" hosting, at a higher monthly cost, and drastically less space (most hosting companies "oversell" their storage and bandwidth they offer, since realistically, hardly anyone actually uses those insane amounts - at least that's what the hosting company hopes will happen). Unfortunately you end up on a server with quite a few other websites, and that load on the CPU can easily spike, setting off alarms at the hosting company (they want to keep CPU usage at a certain level to ensure server stability), and too many instances of that causes them to suspend your account. At this point I think it is possible to host the downloads, and remotely link them here, either via FTP or set up another domain and host them that way, linking them here. If I have time today, I'll see about doing some tests and see what happens. Guest Echo
Yeah you should think about getting an Amazon S3 account and then linking to them from here. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/59249-downloads/#findComment-1405454 Share on other sites

Macca
What about a Wattum private tracker for users with torrents??? that way as long as everyone seeds and holds onto things then it'll be ok with Joyrex reseeding every so often certain sets here and there which have been forgotten.... Joyrex
Hmmm... a tracker is not a bad idea - it would depend on how many members of WATMM run their BT clients continuously, as I wouldn't want it to all depend on just a few members to carry that load... sysyphus
i've talked with chaos before in chatmm, but i don't think the resources are available to have a watmm private tracker of sorts. in a perfect world, it would bind to your registered account, have ratios, and i'd seed about every idm live set in existence, cuz you know...i like to spread my seed innit Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide sysyphus's signature Hide all signatures publius enigma Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/59249-downloads/#findComment-1405673 Share on other sites
