'Lack of Toenail' blog

Okay, short story:

I had my big toe operated.

The nail removed.

Now I have no nail.

I am just waiting for it to grow out again.

Why am I doing this?

Perhaps for educational reasons. Perhaps just for the shits and giggles.

this happened to me about 3 years ago. my nail never grew back properly... it's grows twice as thick with a big gap between the nail and my toe making it a nightmare to cut and keep clean.

I don't have big toenails. I prefer it.

some dick dropped a washing machine on mine. the nail was hanging by a thread and this nurse reckoned it would re-bed if she tried to force it back into it's socket with pliers. 4 days later my toe looked like it might fall off never mind the nail, all pussy and white(how do you spell pussy? same as pussy? ok)... went back in, got the dead nail removed, which should never have been put back in (so said the doc)... no lie - it took about 2 years to grow to the end of my toe before i could cut it.

Ya, same here. Got my big toe stepped on at a show. It turned black and fell off like a month later. Now the toenail is super thick, but I don't have the big gap.

I am in the idea stage of doing some sort of documentary which either follow me/my toe on the way to better days or just people's reactions whenever they see the toe.

I cant believe there are so many kindred spirits here. In december my toenail got infected somehow and stopped growing. A new one has grown underneath and has alomst completely pushed the old one off. I'm amazed it hasn't been more messy but it has been a textbook affair from start to finish.

today I just noticed that my pinky toenail is about to fall off. I don't know what to do.
