What's it like while it's happening?

I rub my legs together, but I have RLS, so that's where the energy builds up.

Try exercising during the day if this is consistently a problem. Or have a project by your bed that you only work on when you wake up in the night.

Fighting it doesn't really help. Meditate on it.

its just stupid racing thoughts about my future, house, family, bills, job, etc. i exercise regularly too.

i read or turn the news on. i find that background noise can help me fall asleep. but i have difficulty sleeping to begin with. booze does it. a lot of booze.

do something with that time to better organize this future you're concerned with. future, bills, family. sounds confusing. when you have more clarity around those issues, you'll have more clarity around those issues (!) and you'll also sleep easier (!!).

you need that slow-wave sleep though, don't deprive yourself. Find a good sleep pattern for yourself that includes this.

Shout outs to the saracens, musulmen and celestials.

smoke weed, get terribly unfulfilling (but immediate) sleep, repeat etc.

Organise your thoughts. I file all my stresses, anxieties, excitements and any other things that would keep me awake into a mental cabinet that I open only when I wake up.

Basically

I close my eyes and switch to the cold side of the pillow, gone in 5 seconds.

i try to get in a comfortable position and then stop moving period, lay there for a long time and breathe as slow as you would if you were actually sleeping. i find breathing slower helps me get to sleep a lot faster

i wish i woke up more during the night... its really good for lucid dreaming

this is happening more and more. thanks for the suggestions though. at least on the weekends jim beam helps me.

cold side of the pillow makes everything right.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

go for a wee stroll round the house, rather than tossing and turning. although some tossing helps. :spiteful:

Nice one! :) The bar across from my apt. offers a PBR+Beam shot for $4, which is pretty sweet.

If I have a bunch of shit running through my mind, I will tell myself that I won't lie there and sort it all out in detail, but I will get up and make a quick list of the topics, to get it somewhat out of my head and secure somewhere so that I can take it on properly the next day or whatever.

im sure its the fact that im trying to sell my condo before our baby comes. plus just the stress of a baby countdown until my life is totally altered forever. its a lot to take in.

our condo is a great size for 2 people and we would be able to manage with an infant but not for more than a year. plus to try and sell our condo with it packed to the gills with baby toys, clothes and empty bottles of red wine, jim beam and a few broken dreams wont be the most ideal.

same boat. we've always had a spare room for hoarding shit but now it's needed so what do you do with all the shit? i intend to use it again... someday. i've been "nesting" like a mofo for the last few months. my tool/utility belt has never seen so much action!

try not to think your life's being altered so much... rather, added to. that's what i try to do anyway. it's definately a step into the unknown for us and obviously you'll have to accomodate to a degree. i could be completely deluded. probably am... oh shit.

when's yours due again?
