I love Jeff's voice. Especially when he attempts high notes that he's apparently incapable of pulling off.

The first time I heard 'Aeroplane' was on a mixtape my friend's sister had given to him. As soon as I heard the first line I knew I had to have the rest of it. Thus began my love affair with that band. The songwriting is amazingly economical and effective in it's simplicity and the orchestration is pretty much proto-indie, from what I know - which may not be enough.

I'm particularly fond of the overbearing fuzz bass.

there is a lot of bad folk/indie that comes out

He played live pretty recently too that I remember... surfaced after many years, brought many men to tears, then submerged again... within the last 6 months.

Jeff Mangum's possibly #1 on my list of musicians who should start making goddamn music again. Fuck.
