why do people start threads like this and don't give us any details/information etc?

it's like starting a thread saying: "I can't move my legs, what do I do?", and thats it.

I (Erik of the U.S.A) am unable (adjective) to upload files (i.e. rar/zip/bmp/jpg/mp3/etc...) to the internet (the revolutionary invention of Al Gore). Whenever i attempt said action on for example, mediafire, megaupload or photobucket, it results in a failed upload. Failed starts with the letter "F".

The most common reason for why this problem occurs, is due to either a virus or an inconvenient firewall setting (of which i have never altered or even touched). It is my hope that perhaps other possible solutions could be suggested in this thread. If it is relevant, i use 64 bit Vista, and it's 4:33 A.M.

same thing happened to me. (still happens)

I don't know why but it uploads then drops the connection at some point.

You need a sofware that will upload your data by chunks.

For instance, youtube offers a java applet to do this.

IMO you should just rename your files to .avi and upload them on youtube.

Then u use a plugin of some kind to grab the avi file and give it back the right extension. :sorcerer:

Are you on a wired or wireless network? If you're on the latter and it has its own firewall then no you don't.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

this is silly? youtube will probably re-encode the file, resulting in nonsense.

it's just not uploading a single byte of data. like for example, mediafire it will just say "failure" where it should normally say "100%".

check your router's parse reporting - it could be that the legacy cache is causing a dispute with the windows RAM buffer.

and how would i go about doing this, if i may ask?

try the following:

(7/vista)

click start

type CMD but don't press enter

right-click cmd under programs and select run as admin

at the dos prompt type the following:

ipconfig /flushdns
netsh int ip reset reset.log
netsh winsock reset catalog
exit

reboot your computer.

to check your router's parse reporting you need to first initialise it's ODBC throughput (with control panel > ODBC settings), then run a dummy script through your open data ports to flush out any backlogged parse errors. run a simple html reset in notepad, turn on printer sharing and you should be set.
