Come November, Massive Attack are set to put out a four-track War Child benefit EP dubbed Atlas Air via Virgin. Along with the title track, which appeared on this year's Heligoland, the EP features an "Atlas Air" remix from ex-DFA man Tim Goldsworthy, a new track featuring Elbow singer Guy Garvey called "Redlight", and a remix of "Redlight" by Warp beat mangler Clark. The digital version also includes a short "Atlas Air" film directed by Edouard Salier, who did the awesome "Splitting the Atom" video. The record will be available in computer file form and on limited edition 12" vinyl.

hopefully redlight is better than the garvey trk on heligoland because that was awful

lets be realistic... the remixes are going to suck. I am pissed that they are only delivering one new track on the new EP.

who knows when Massive Attack will releasing something proper again. I took them soo long to release Heligoland.

I need more new tracks and less remixes.

gahhhh...

haha yea. perfect.

Heligoland was... awkward. To be nice about it. Massive Attack are not what they used to be.

For me it was one hell of a grower - I started out only liking Paradise Circus (in fact I fuckin' loved it), but one by one the tracks fell into place. And now, it's a close one but I think think it's my favourite album by them.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

OK. I will elaborate.

Massive Attack used to be pretty much the best. But compare Heligoland to 100th Window...... it's a joke.

3D has hung up the artistry, ingenuity and forward-thinking of his prior work to make peace with the crew, much to Massive's detriment.

I actually hated 100th Window (apart from Special Cases) and thought Heligoland was a great return to form. So yeah, horses for courses and all that (or whatever the phrase is!)

Wow. I'm quite surprised that there are M.A.-fans out there who prefer 100th or Heligoland before Protection, Blue Lines and Mezzanine. I really consider Protection to be a ground-breaking masterpiece, and both Blue Lines and Mezzanine are among my all-time favs. 100th window were a huge disappointment, and sort of made me lose interest in the band. I've just listened to Heligoland a couple of times. "Splitting the atom" and "Paradice Circus are decent tracks, but compared to their early stuff, I think it's nothing. I'm looking forward to the Clark remix, though.

I think 100th Window is sheer genius. The only thing that comes close is Mezzanine

Name Taken!! Godlike.

Greg, I agree.

Mezzanine, to me, is one of the top 5 of the nineties.

Heligoland is lovely tough - I'm glad something new came from them at all.
