8-bit cover of "Two Pages" by Philip Glass

Hi all. As you may know, I love the earlier works of Philip Glass, from 600 lines to Music In Twelve Parts. I also love the way music sounds when it's been made to sound like it was created with early 8-bit video game technology. So, over the last few days, I have put together something awesome: A complete cover version of Two Pages, created entirely in FamiTracker, which is a program designed for creating music in the style of the NES/Famicom.

This was not easy to accomplish. FamiTracker is designed for music in 4/4 timing, but the time signature of Two Pages shifts dramatically throughout the piece. And I don't know of any way to copy and paste repetitions, so I had to manually program every note (there area total of 6,808 notes in Two Pages). FamiTracker has blocks of 64 spaces to insert notes, and I had to make hundreds of calculations to figure out exactly where in these blocks the repetitions would change. But I got there eventually.

This version of Two Pages is 24 and a half minutes long. You can download it from Megaupload here (feel free to share this link!):

(33.6 megs, Mono, 192kbps)

Or you can download it from WATMM via the attachment below.

It should be noted that "Two Pages" is a very minimalist piece of music written in Philip Glass' early career. If you are not familiar with minimalism, it may be best to avoid this piece. If, however, you can enjoy the hypnotic repetitions in Two Pages, feel free to download!
