afraid of heights?

nice exposure, but he's basically climbing a ladder, clipping in with those huge carabiners every few meters

i have a friend who used to do this from time to time. nothing that tall. but safety gear or not, that shit is intense.

and it isn't like climbing a ladder.

i posted this in youtube thread. impressive stuff for a day at the office and not really much like climbing a ladder at all. ladders usually at an incline for a start, then the wind, wind-chill, weight of his tools, etc.

no walk in the park.

i think that is terrifying. i've thought about it a lot, actually, and my fear is not so much of heights but of relying on something man made. even when climbing ladders, i question weld quality, potential mistreatment, etc. four minutes into that video he's climbing up some like 2" metal pipe that has screws sticking out of it. i'm pretty sure i could never make myself trust something that delicate looking, while that high...

i remember taking the second elevator to the top of the eiffel tower and being quite scared. it looked old! and it was packed! with kids! who were jumping up and down.

Man you have to imagine the way down is even more difficult...this is INSANE.

we did climb 40-50m radio towers for fun with friends back then. It was fun. just don't drink too much before you do it

When you're up that high, I don't know what's worse, looking up or looking down.

the highest thing i've ever climbed was a fire tower in the woods, it was like 100 feet high. coming down WAS much worse, but it was really fun.

same. when i moved into an apartment with a steel mesh balcony a while back, i wouldn't step onto it for about a month because it was a new building and i was all too aware of the bathtub curve.
