Guest lands end road

Pet Shop Boys - Please The A side is just hit after hit. They should have spread some of the A side tracks out a bit.

Japan - Gentlemen Take Polaroids Same case as above, although "Taking Islands in Africa" almost makes up for it.

no love for methods of dance? that's one of my favourite japan songs!

Reverse for'Sulk' by Associates, but I think that was deliberate. Side A is dense and grim and slightly hard work, B is pure pop genius.

As much as I love the album, Mew's "No More Stories etc" gets a little meh after Cartoons and Macrame Wounds. Although the last two songs are quite nice.

I don't remember specific song names but I agree the first half of that album is better. It just gets a little too samey in the second half, nothing really stands out.

neil young - hawks & doves (imo)

First one that came to my mind was Neil Young's "Rust Never Sleeps".

There are some good moments on Side B but Side A alone has to be his best album, on it's own.

are you including the japanese bonus tracks? that's the version i have, but i haven't listened to it recently enough for an informed opinion... novelty value there

interesting. to me, that album is gold all the way from start to finish.

Another one I thought of although I'm sure some will disagree with me:

Joseph Nothing - Dummy Variations

The first half is just so catchy and cute and happy and poppy.... and then it gets kinda noisey and bland.

Me too. The only thing I can really think of off-hand is The Doors' Morrison Hotel. After Ship of Fools it starts to go south..
