Ive just found out that holywood is going to remake Total Recall

I think holywood needs to stop going through its dvd collection and start buying book novels

You know what might be interesting...

Minority Report was originally supposed to be the sequel to Total Recall (the psychics were mutants from mars). If they remade both Total Recall and Minority Report, sort of together, and make them work as a two parter that'd be pretty cool.

I think you need to stop watching movies and start buying some fucking book novels so you can make proper use of the written word someday. But until that happens I will continue hoping that Tom Cruise picks up that script about doing yo-yo tricks by your face. That'd be the best two hours to come out of Holywood in ages.

GHOST: have you killed Claudius yet
HAMLET: no
GHOST: why
HAMLET: fuck you is why
im going to the cemetery to touch skulls

Tom Cruise doing yoyo tricks way too close to Craig Anderson's face is, hands down, the best watmm meme i have ever witnessed

Is there a case of a good remake? I can't remember now but there's bound to be some out there.

www.petergaber.com is where I keep my paintings. I used to have a kinky tumblr, but it exploded.

The Thing... (technically is a sequel)

remakes, i don't mind THAT much, but reboots.... there is a different kettle of fish, like the reboot of spider-man coming out in 2012, don't see the point as the film is only 10 years old!

The Ring (IMO at least)

That's all I can think of.

i have no problem with remakes. john carpenter's thing was a remake and it's one of my favorite movies. it's not like the original is invalidated. it's still there. a remake will usually be crap, but it isn't hurting anything by existing, and occasionally it's better than the original movie.

however, franchise reboots that simply retell an origin story are getting really annoying. that's just a series of false starts that never lead anywhere, when you could be developing a series of movies that tell a long story. i didn't like batman begins, i won't like the new spiderman, and i don't need a new superman to explain who he is. we all know who these iconic characters are and there's no point in watching another origin story.
