Guest maus
i'm actually debating doing this as a service for people. to be honest it's really easy to chop the thing up and paint it.. just take a bit of patience. i've got a couple queued up for people at work, but i might be able to do some custom jobs for folks here too. also might try working with a graffiti artist or something to do a series of them. NI is planning on doing some "artist edition" maschines, but i think custom ones are more fun. although it voids your warranty, of course. awepittance
looks awesome, on the maschine tip how many reaktor ensembles have been ported over to it? or is there better integration now between maschine and reaktor? Guest maus
well when maschine isn't being maschine with the software, it's just a midi controller. so essentially at that point it's no different than an MPD or padkontrol or something. there are MIDI templates for various software packages - live, guru, battery, etc... but you can program your own pretty easily with the controller editor. other than that, it's real whammy is using it with the maschine software, which i find myself doing more and more. Guest maus
thanks! it's a bit of a cheat of an EP because it's really only one new song... but i've been working on the damn album so long i had to release something! customising the maschine was actually easier than it looks, label-wise. i got these full-page 8/12 x 11 sticker sheets by avery. they're not QUITE 100% transparent, but pretty close. then just printed out a few test pages to get the font size right, and then it was scissors and tweezers time. once i did the overspray with clearcoat and then satin finish, it helps the labels 'soak in' a bit better too. it's not perfect, but works for now. the cool thing is you can use any font / artwork / colours you can imagine. doing a few for people at work. might take a stab at my axiom 61 next. but now my studio smells like krylon.
