your best track/release title

Recommended Posts

I thought "Xylem Phloem" was a pretty good pun on xylophone when I came up with it. Later on I found out Aphex Twin already had tracks using those obscure plant terms, & it felt kind of awkward after that.

I was gonna call an EP "Hello Everything" back in 2005 but it turned out all acid tracks, so I called it "Hello Acid" instead.

true story!

best titles are probably the two tracks I made yesterday. 'i have killed' and 'god hates me'. hardcore shit.

I wrote a little interlude called "Kill you with my dick in my hand"

GHOST: have you killed Claudius yet
HAMLET: no
GHOST: why
HAMLET: fuck you is why
im going to the cemetery to touch skulls

oh yeah, also on that album: Dumbass Demons Walk to School, California Raisins Feel So Good, The Nativity Scene is Dead, and Geckohole.

I went through a long stage of naming my tracks with very literal descriptions of what they were supposed to suggest - 'Machine', 'Building', 'Night', etc - so don't have too much to choose from, but I'm especially fond of Tekeli-li, Bottomless City, Erosion Reversed and Send More Bees.

I also like Envtza, because it has the baffling story of being my ex-girlfriend's initials.

"Head Kids" - I gave some drunk girl a ride home and we talked about the friends you have who you're really only around at clubs and/or when you're getting fucked up. They're your "head kids".

"Ayodin Skirmish" - Named after a game of Tephra that I played with a friend. It was his first time GMing ("Narrating") and a bunch of Ayodins (the water-dwelling race of the world) were boarding the ship we were on with intentions to sink it.

"Rabbits and Wolves" - The track sounds like little fast creatures and a big, scary, clever motherfucker.

polydisco is pretty solid!

For me it'd have to be Vampire State Building, I realized that it's really easy to imagine wall street brokers as vampires saying "Wwwwwaallll Sstreeeet" in a strong accent, hahaha. But yeah the discovery was nice, I was talking to some friends and the Empire State Building came up and someone misheard it as Vampire State Building and that was that. Later I found out that there was already a band and album named Vampire State Building, oh well. =)
