That sucks. He was a fairly funny guy who was actually smart. I enjoyed his various roasts, although his last one veered dangerously near bomb territory.

i never much cared for his comedy but honestly comedy central getting worse and worse made me appreciate him more and more.

sad. he had supposedly overcome his addictions. also had a couple kids.

Yeah I didn't see or get very stoked at the thought of watching his stand up but that mofo sure could roast a fool

the deaths in the past couple years have really been crazy. fawcett, jackson, coleman, carradine, Mac, hayes, cronkite, ledger, mays...

extremely good point

edit: not that it excuses this kind of behavior but when someone like Heath Ledger dies of a 'prescription drug overdose' i feel like the issue is generally brushed under the rug. It's usually implied that it was a combo of many things that led to their deaths but a large portion of these drugs (valium, xanax, vicodin, oxycontin, adderall, soma) by themselves can easily cause an overdose or a heart attack.

Abusing opioid prescription meds is cool and OK, that's what that genius grumpy doctor does on that TV show and that other show about the nurse.

I bet if House would be shooting heroin, the show wouldn't have even been made, but as long as he is popping neat little pills from an official looking bottle it's OK.

i really liked him on the roasts

i remember some standup and tough crowd before the roasts, he always had a giggliness mixed with a surprising bite.
