I've honestly thought about this before, and I would have to agree that the composer who did the Metroid Prime stuff. Maybe FSOL (I'm thinking of Lifeforms here).

okay, maybe they should keep the original compositions, but I think someone interesting should produce it. One of those guys who mixes really cold mechanical dubstep with fragile 8-bit synths ould be good. and then add some like cellos and a choir at some points to make it even more epic.
