Realtime sound Stretch & Pitch plugin

Recommended Posts

Guest mollekula

Firstly sorry for the text in the topic description, i dont know how it got there. i might have done it by mistake, i just saw it while checking my topic and i cant remove it. now, concerning ableton, i know that ableton can do fantastic stuff, but at the moment im in the process of learning Cubase and its already a heavy task. no matter how much i wanna try ableton i think it will do me no good if i jump back and forth from one program to another, at least for now. so thats why i asked if you guys can recommend a plugin for real-time sound stretching mostly, because QuikQuak Pitchwheel is ok for pitch shift for me. i dont know if there is a plugin that combines both of these functions. thanx in advance

Plus ableton isn't real-time

Of course, you have to record/load the files in advance when using Ableton's implementation, but if that is not a viable option in the context of his question then I'm not sure what would be. Strictly speaking, I don't believe there is such a thing as live time manipulation since a recording would have to exist before there is any viable material to time-stretch.

Ha! You can do buffered real time time stretching and pitch shifting in Ableton.

But to answer Wall Birds real question, a good one Cubase could use is Reaktor.

Probably not what you're looking for, but if you want an old school pitch/time stretch, try this - http://www.rs-met.com/software/freebies/PitchShifter_v0.5.zip

Automation can only be done through midi, so ya know.

curious, what exactly do you mean by this?

I spent a while trying to figure out a decent "tape stop/start" solution for Ableton Live that did not involve Max4Live. What I discovered was with some care, I could achieve this perfectly with a grain delay.

With that knowledge at hand, you can easily change pitch/stretch.

oh ya dude, i love the grain delay for real-time pitch shifting, you can get some awesome effects for your voice and shit. i was wondering more about the time stretching with it?
