now adays when rock bands bring giant modulars on stage they are usually just extremely aesthetically pleasing visual aids

the modular synth masters back in the 70s would actually make a new patch mid song, most people including myself would have a panic attack if we tried this

Hell yeah that Edgar Winter video was quite cool, I definitely like seeing people do that kind of ambitious stuff live. No doubt pretty gangster but that modular ain't even close to as complex as DCs new monstrosity. I seriously just can't imagine messing with that many knobs.

Yeah I'm pretty sure he just collects them as a hobby... I don't think Tool ever intend to go largely electronic...

I'm probably not alone when I say lack of recall on a modular rig is part of the magic and reason of using one.
