Guest Sprigg
I'm looking for either good string samples (cello and viola mostly), but just single notes, not entire melodies. A (free) string VST would be cool as well. I'm using ImageLine's Sakura, but i'm curious about getting different tones/ sounds from other synths. Guest Blanket Fort Collapse
I've got a VST non sample based synth for orchestra sounds that's actually supposed to be pretty good (and its a small file). I can't remember what it's called but when check my music pc I will let you know. I have got to try it more to see if its as good as people say. Personally I'm pretty sure I am going to be doing mostly sampling for this kind of stuff. I'm not really satisfied with reasons orchestra patches or anything I have tried really. I really like the way orchestra recordings sound from the 60s and 70s so I think I am going to sample a few film OSTs to get the big, warm, none digital clean sounding mystical string sounds I want. Guest Blanket Fort Collapse
Yeah, I've been wanting to spend some more time with Synful Orchestra (what I was referring to previous) but I haven't really needed strings for the tracks I been jamming on lately. I'm going to spend some time with it today and see if I can see what the hype is all about. I find it very interesting that it's not sample based at all, new form of synthesis etc. etc. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/60674-string-samples/#findComment-1439486 Share on other sites
