MAME: Any experts out there?

Having difficulty getting any games to work! :(

mame is shit. open source retards hijacked it about 10 years ago. they treat mame as an experiment in emulating hardware and treat people who want to play the games on pc as the scum of the earth. so fuck mame!

Usually you just stick the .zip in the roms folder. Hit 'audit all games' from the file menu and - shazam, you're there ....

It might be the website you're getting them from has some rather dodgy rom dumps.

I've tried it a few times and never managed to get one game to run. Can anyone recommend some good sites?

you also need bios images of the types of games your playing right? like neo geo, cps1, cps2 etc..

it really is a pain in the ass but i find it easy to just download an all in one of some sort

Mm I use to have Neo X Emulator and some Roms but they don't work on XP. Shame 'cause nothing like a bit of KOF action to finish off the evening!
