Flying Lotus Trash Techno Stuff?

yeah, last weekend flylo was in town and instead of the scheduled one hour he almost dropped two and in the middle of it he played a lot trash techno / house inspired stuff, most of it in his own style. i fucking loved it. i'm not sure if it was all by him (noticed trilingual dance experience though) but i guess so.

so i wanted to know if you know anything or heard similiar stuff live from him?

should we expect flying lotus turning trash techno soon?

mhh...it was very rhythm orientated, almost no harmonic stuff happening. a bit like the maximo park & health remix from clark without melody. so i guess ed banger is close.

trash techno for me is the most important term these days. to define it would be way to complex.let's say: techno that's not minimalistic or clear or techno-ish at all but very dirty, idm-ish and banging. like an ordinary techno track on cocain & crystal.

You know, I was thinking Clark when you mentioned this. Dirty Pixie, Urgent Jell Hack, See See, Re Scar Kiln, Dead Shark Eyes and shit. Basically all his killer EP tracks. Bangin stuff!

When I saw a live set by him he also played some of his own stuff with harsher/faster beats.

Sounded cool but it was too loud and the sound system was way overloaded and distorted.

Hrhr yeah the clark tracks you mentioned really fit although of course flying lotus is not clark and so his attempt to techno is more... lush & warm & friendly. By the way I die if there isn't some Clark news soon!

yeah Turning Dragon is for me the definition of Trash Techno. Trash Techno is a very positive term. Maybe it's the wrong term but... any suggestions?

So Moustache (Half a Scissor) is as right wicked/funky/twisted technos as it gets, AND Flying Lotus just re-released it on Brianfeeder this year.

i invented 'trash techno' 10 years ago but never called it "trash techno". it's just that my techno was trash, and now people like it (trashy techno).

And funny thing about that repressing... isn't it kind of odd to repress a quite old album on a different label? Why do so?
