Maphive 6.1

I'd say this is one of their best songs! What are your thoughts and opinions about it?

it's awesome. just like the rest of the EP. if they'll ever release some "from the vaults" kind of releases i'm really rooting for another EP7. amongst other things...

I love the gelky bits.

I'd have to say the best part of the song is when the sub bass groove kicks in at 2:54. Amazing.

I often skip it when listening to EP7.

i can't explain it, but this is a very different sounding AE track. i guess if i never heard it before and someone showed it to me now, i wouldn't think it's ae.

Such a moving, deeply sublime track. I can't quite describe the feeling it gives me, it's like magic. Every sound is perfect. The pitch bends so beautifully, every little wiggle hits me deep down.

Maffive sixpointone. Gotta love it. For me it has a definite oriental feel.

This song title makes me wish I could hear it and indeed all Autechre, in surround sound.

i thought this as well, but their music is generally quite sparse, in terms of layers - plus breaking something like confield or draft down into 5.1 would kinda ruin the cohesiveness of the sound. also a lot of their stuff is basically mono with stereo only used for reverb imaging. that said though, i wouldn't say no to a future album that is written for surround sound, i'm sure they could make it lush as fuck.

I think a surround sound mixture of Draft 7.30 and Oversteps would be wicked cool.
