buuuunch of my friends are going. I personally don't really see the appeal, I guess it's cause I don't really care about politics, I just watch the Daily Show and the Report for teh lulz.

i was hoping to go with my sign that said 'people who practice civil disobedience are whiner faggots' & 'MLK complained too much'

if it (edit: the announcement of where you could tune into the live broadcast) was on comedy central they didn't do a very good job of advertising it, i watch the daily show pretty much every day and didn't know it was being broadcast

are you serious? for the last two weeks ( minus the week he didn't broadcast, mind) jon stewart has been plugging it every show, especially the week before they went to dc. colbert was on his show..... it was constantly mentioned. like the whole time they were broadcasting from Washington, DC....

also, both the show and rally are/were avaliable online. that is how i watch em.

i meant the ability to watch it on TV, not the rally itself. I don't recall a single mention of how a viewer could tune into comedy central and watch the rally.... anyways, can i watch it somewhere? links would be appreciated

if you can get the 20 minutes before this, you have basically the best parts.

also, cspan is supposedly showing it again at 8pm.

thanks, ill be tuning in. I thought his interview with Obama was pretty good, especially the 'larry summers is doing a heck of a job' part. I've never seen Obama so visibly embarrassed before.

if i was to pull one major point from this event, s is that it means a person who is a celebrity (whether it be Glenn Beck or Jon Stewart) is able to motivate more people more so than any other activist mobilizing effort (antiwar, etc) in the united states since perhaps the civil rights era.

To be fair, Stewart and Colbert didn't get to where they are now if it wasn't for their comedic activism against the mainstream news and corruption in washington.

i'm not criticizing them, or what they've accomplished. It was more of a blanket criticism of america in general, that this (a famous person telling them to go somewhere) is what it takes to get people off their asses to a rally.
