what if roland or korg, didn't exist?

this shit is like fucking calculus. multiple genii coming up with it independently. if that TB had takin' ol mr. roland founder out as opposed to just getting him into radios, all this music shit still would have happened -- just out of order

...then Jean Michels Jarre's carrer would have stretched another 19yrs and Kraftwerk would be headlining Glastonbury

seriously tho the German - Detriot infuence was a musical one it just so happened the Roland and Korg stuff was readily avalible at the time

'acid' on the other hand wouldn't have happened without a 303 methinx and would the 90's analogue revival happened?

maybe hiphop/sampling would have been more dominant

..and everybody would be using Moogs and making crazy prog-rock-hip-hop. basically everyone would sound like the bastard child of Pink Floyd and Grandmaster Flash.

i'll add to that, yes there still would've been Kraftwerk, making their own drum machines. but without Roland/Korg gear loads of other people probably wouldn't of bothered starting up making electronic music. but yeah as somebody else said, other companies would've made the synths and drum machines instead.. without Roland/Korg you'd still have Moog/Sequential Circuits, and Oberheim, etc.

paul mccartney did "temporary secretary" without any rolands or korgs whatsoever.

I guess other firms would have sprung up making the same kind of things to fill the gap in the market. maybe called Koland or Rorg.

if the company was called Rorg then I would expect a greater emphasis on keytars and bands like Dragonforce and Bathory to be releasing teh IDMzzz music.
