vocoding idea

i was thinking about vocoding yer voice with whatever and take the vocoded voice and vocode it again, would that be cool? i don't have the ability to try it, i mean i'm sure it's been done, i imagine it would sound quite harsh

I could be wrong but I think it wouldnt make any difference if you 'vocoded' the output of a vocoder. The transients of the modulator waveform will still be the same, so when ran through the carrier the second time it'll be pretty much exactly the same. Erm, I think !

Hold on - I'm gonna do a iterative loop on Buzz and see what happens ....

You could get interesting results using different modulating waveforms each time, but if you used the same thing to modulate it, I think would be pointless. I use this technique to get percussive sounds a lot. After a few iterations of different modulating signals you can get some cool stuff.

Here we are, it's a quick degradation into muffled harmonics over time (a la the 'I Am Sitting in a Room' recording) - though that's probably due to the crap vocoder I'm using more than anything:

you can swap around the modulation frequencies on the nord modulars e.g. hat sound could modulate the bass end of the sound you voccoding
