There was a dearth of MDMA in the UK a couple of years ago, and combined with cat's easy availability at the time, this boosted it's popularity. Now it's illegal and there's plenty of decent quality mdma knocking about again. I never took it, but I can see why some people described as a bit like mdma, a bit like coke, not as good as either. It turns people in to coked up hippies, as in they talk at you rather than with you, not in an aggressive cokey way, but not entirely in a loved up mdma way.

Mephedrone is fucking horrible stuff for twats. Almost as bad as speed or base in terms of comedown.

And it feels so unhealthy while being on it.

It's alright, but I don't have it any more. Pretty nasty shit (+the last few times I've had it it's been crap).

It stunk out most clubs and shitloads of pubs everywhere for a few months this year. Was fun for a bit, then intensely bleh after that

It's still legal here. I tried it once. It was kind of cool at first (very fun for making music and doodling!) but then the worst comedown of my entire life. My skin turned purple and I knelt hazily before the porcelain god (partially nauseated, partially unable to move) for what seemed like hours--every time I opened my eyes the world looked like it had been rearranged into an MC Escher diagram. My left eye was so bloodshot it looked like I had advanced conjunctivitis. It took days before I got my energy back and two weeks for my eye to clear up. Plus my sweat reeked of the stuff for like two days. So I'll pass.
