soundwave
anyone use these? I hear the software aint great but i've read theres decent third party support as well as midi feedback response which has me very interested are they good value or cheap and nasty? I see Tim Exiles a fan. futureimage
I'd say good value, like most other Behringer controllers on the whole. It's great with Ableton Live. Perhaps my only concerns are that it doesn't look brilliant (quite plasticky in fact) and it isn't the sturdiest controller I've used, but other than that it's great. hardcode
i have one but i rarely use it. i always plan on making some incredible aphex twin wannabe rig with every knob assigned to something so i can just go nuts but i usually just end up using the mouse. Hautlle
I love mine. Found a template for it online so it's mapped to my DSI Tetr4. Makes programming that thing much easier! It is a bit plasticky, but the knobs feel nice and smooth. Add in the numerous pages you can map, and you can do a lot with it. Mr.Sensi
It's decent for the money. The knobs feel pretty good, though the the entire box is not that sturdy. I accidentally stepped on mine and now a quarter of the top end is mushed in. Still works fine though. ryancolecreate
looks cool. I just don't play live ever so there's really no use. My outboard gear is also all pretty knobby so no need there either. :) Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide ryancolecreate's signature Hide all signatures ------ dailyambient.com ------ New Ambient Music Every Day. Funny, i'm trying to make some incredible aphex twin wannabe rig with every knob assigned to something so i can just go nuts, where the going nuts part plays out quite well. Initially i had divided it up into 8 columns for 8 simultaneous sample loops, each of them having 4 knobs (volume, pan, sample speed/length). Then i assigned some of the already assigned knobs to add some effects, so it's a mess now. I'm too lazy to start using different presets and reassign all the knobs again. Guest Wall Bird
For those of you who own the BCF or the BCR; how accurate are the knobs and faders? I own a Novation Remote Zero SL and one issue I have with it is that the hard-wired (non-encoder) knobs are not consistent. That is to say, when I turn a knob as far clockwise as I can the values don't always mirror that. I may often be a few units short of the maximum setting and have to jiggle the knob left-to-right a little before it can reorient itself. This makes it hard to do repeatable gestures accurately. When using the BCR, do you ever encounter such problems. Also, for owners of the BCF, how sturdy are the faders? Do you think they could take a lot of abuse from someone who is using them for something a little expressive than simple level controls? The rotary knobs on the BCR are endless, so I've never had a problem with that. The only thing I have noticed, is that sometimes if I move a knob super fast it may stop tracking the knob and I'll have to slow the turn down and it will pick back up where it left off/stopped tracking. Guest ryanmcallister
I had a BCF, loved it with the motorized faders and stuff. I'd actually say these things are fairly sturdy, i'd haul one around live. it's like at that perfect price point where it's not your most precious studio gear so if it gets beat up and shit you don't care, and if you have to it's not too expensive to get another one. get the white one if you can, so stylish...though can you get the BCR in white, or just the BCF, i don't know? kanarie
My bcr2000 is a bit shaky, sometimes it sends cc spontaneously (without touching any knobs), i can't get it to work using usb, and the leds are "leaking" to neighbouring leds. There's also something wrong with the edit button as it's almost impossible to enter programming mode.. I opened it up once, it looked like it had been wet inside, pcb's were all corroded. It looked kind of dodgy and cheap as well. Still I'm using it a lot and it's kept working so far. Bitstream 3x seems a lot more solid. There were actually a whole lot of'em that went out w/ bad USB boards (or so I heard). Mine can work in USB mode, but it likes to fuck up... (weird MIDI loop issues @ random) I use it straight MIDI mode and it works great.
