the digital music age & the credit card

hello

so lots of music is digitally sold now

lots of people give it away, but lots more seem to need that 99¢ / song

i can only imagine what percentage of the internet using, music downloading community, are of the age of not having a credit card. not to mention those who are of age buy dont/cant have one

isnt that fucked up?

as the internet becomes more and more pervasive in generations who do own credit cards, and the youth without credit cards grow up and get credit cards, more and more music will be sold online.

economies of scale don't happen overnight.

so i imagine the future holds nothing more than prosecuted pirates who live in prison or eternal government debt, pirates who live in fear being prosecuted, such as a drug addict, and consumers, who buy music, spending their hard earned money on digitally copied files, just like the good old days of the compact disc, (except for the little electronic RFID tag with a small message on the bottom that reminds you that "you can and will go to prison if you use this piece of plastic in a way that prevents rich people from making more money"

this is a pretty valid point. An area that is neglected to some extent. A young person might go out to the record shop and buy a CD with their pocket money. They got the feeling of getting something for their money. Guess we just gotta move with the evolution.

The food bill has already been discussed at length in another thread here: as usual hysteria was the dominating factor in the initial proclamation that people wouldn't be able to grow their own food.

Paypal is the best thing ever , i have 85 percent of Rephlex catalog thanks to it.

you can also set up paypal to take directly from your bank account without the need of a card

As patternoverlap said, you can use paypal directly linked with your bank account, transfer money from Bank to paypal. Spend money you have. Additional benefit of purchases not being tracked as by credit card.

I have an overdraft apparently as I am now 15 quid in debt
