New MP3/Multi media player

SO i need a new music player etc. I am trying to look at iriver's new products through their homepage but keep getting virus alerts.

Other than iriver i dunno where to look. iriver was my first and favorite player. Right now i have a first generation Ipod Video, 80gb. I don't want to go smaller than 80 gb, preferably higher, but i can deal with it.

I really would appreciate a simple interface: Put music on, take music off. As many file types as possible. None of this itunes bullshit.

Don't care if it has video or not, don't care about anything except it playing music. Anybody got any reccomendations?

I found the Cowon X7, it looks fucking sweet. 103 hours of audio battery life. Only downside is i don't think it exists in Canada yet. It seems pretty fucking awesome though.

yeah the X7 just got released in Korea (home market) in October, so probably early next year for that bad boy in North America. If you can hold off it look like it might be a winnar!

iTunes can't take music on or off? Odd

my 4 gig sony died a couple months ago and i've been using my old minidisc, now IT's acting up... not that surprised because it's ancient.

i'll probably get another sony. i don't mind that it's small gig wise... 4/8.. i could probalby get an itouch cheap but i think it would be 1st generation.

yeah well i kind of wanted my own thread. fuck that other shit. we get laptop/gear/player/everything threads all the time, i don't see the harm.

The thing is itunes can but you need to use itunes. with, say, an iriver it is drag and drop. it's a protable hdd with music playing firmware on it. it also plays more than 1 or 2 file types.

3.2 x 0.4 x 6.1 inches ; 1.3 pounds [says amazon]

Obel made a thread about MP3 players at one point and the consensus was basically the Cowon S9. I bought it and it's been fucking amazing to this day. I'm not sure if the X7 trumps it but I recommend the S9 to everyone.

ok, so.......xs cargo. i bought a sony mp3 player there, i've taken the first one back and the second one doesn't work either... luckily i bought the warranty plan and i can replace the mp3 player with anything i want. xs is ok, don't buy electronics from them. lesson learnt.
