the art world sure is full of pretentious basterds

basquiat is the first artist i've ever been this interested in. the dude just gives off the most intriguing vibes. with warhol sitting there you realize that these paintings are only as important as the minds and bodies of these extraordinarily far out people making them.

they both come off as creepy, borderline disgusting individuals based on the interviews and things i've read, but warhol specifically has this bizarre evil feeling to him. i can't wait to explore this stuff much further because i kno i've got so much ahead of me. why did it take so long for me to figure out i liked this shet!

yeah warhol is just such a beautiful weirdo. i don't even particularly like pop art, but i have a huge soft spot for warhol just because of how utterly out there he is.

there used to be this great interview with warhol on youtube, he was vacillating between being incredibly vague and insulting either himself or the interviewer. i can't find it anymore so i don't even know why i brought it up. probably because i spent the last 5 minutes looking for it. doesn't matter i suppose, as that's a summary of nearly every interview with warhol i've ever seen.

Warhol was the quintessential picked-on kid, so he hated people. so he basically turned his whole life into this massive sarcastic put down of all the people around him. and most of them had no clue. it's funny watching warhol interact with some actress or something who's patronising him like he's an idiot savant, and you can see in his eyes that he just despises them.

interestingly enough these collaborative paintings were panned by the critics. Check "radiant Child" for a wicked and inspirational documentary on Basquiat.

pretty weird. after making this thread ends up columbus was having a "gallery hop" night so i went about town and looked at some art. seems like i could take over this scene in a god damn heartbeat if i set my mind to it. and anybody can do anything tif they setttt their mind but the prooo pble mn ihere is that i donnu if i want to even fuck with gluing bike seats to fucking eco friendly toilet paper and shit stained underwear min wallpaper for the purpose of
